There’s never been a more important time to assess and manage infection control risks. The ADA’s Infection Control Committee has spent significant time considering the published evidence and are very pleased to provide you with the 4th Edition of the ADA’s Guidelines for Infection Prevention & Control.

n the development of this new edition, the ADA's Infection Control Committee has taken into consideration the most recent published evidence and recommendations around infection prevention and control, following the principles of assessing risk and adapting the required protective and preventive measures.

The fourth edition incorporates revised information in many areas, including personal protective equipment (including masks and protective eyewear), hand hygiene and hand care, dental unit waterline monitoring, and environmental cleaning.

Some sections of the Guidelines have been expanded to provide more information and support dentists and their teams in implementing and maintaining infection prevention and control standards.
